There is no more famous place for ads in the world than Times Square.

It’s got everything: 161 megawatts of pure electrical energy, iconic brands, and hundreds of thousands of daily shoppers, tourists, and dancing troupes inexplicably dressed up as Bluey, all coming together in one place. For brands, there’s no better place to be seen. And for marketers, a Times Square billboard marks a milestone career achievement.

We could think of no better way to celebrate our community of amazing customers than by showcasing their incredible work in those famed lights. Below, you’ll see how ads from Sweetgreen, Tripadvisor, HelloFresh, Air New Zealand, AG1, and Docusign came together in the big lights of Times Square.

All these brands make people’s lives better, easier, more adventurous, more fun, and yes, even more delicious. We’re honored to celebrate all that they do.

This set of ads comes from the brands themselves: Their marketing and brand teams brought the creative, vision, and voice. And they built everything in Ad Studio, our new AI product that helps performance marketers create, edit, and launch ads at scale. Social platforms are voracious (seriously, the volume they demand is relentless), and making sure that ads perform is genuinely hard. Ad Studio is built for that.

The other thing Ad Studio does that teams love: it plugs into a brand's existing guidelines and content, so everything that comes out still feels unmistakably like them.

For Times Square, we simply provided our customers with Ad Studio as their canvas, and from there, they made it all happen.

How it all came together

Marketers will feel me here: Big campaigns take huge amounts of time. Like, I worked on a Times Square billboard in a previous job. It was awesome, but the process took many painstaking months, and my brain wanted to both explode and melt several times throughout. And that was just one billboard. For this takeover, six brands agreed to join in — all with different visions, internal processes, and team makeups — in addition to our own ad.

So how long did it take? Every brand here built out and approved their ad, including the message, design, motion, and creative, in under four weeks (and in one case, less than one week!). I have to stress: This simply was unheard of before a tool like Ad Studio. To pass the bar for Times Square quality, the most high-stakes place to see ads in the world…it means that we’re entering a new world of possibility for marketers, and it’s pretty thrilling.

That is all a true testament to our customers. We are so grateful they trust us, push us to build products that can genuinely support their talent and ambition, and continuously bring things into the world that are worthy of celebration.
